The Twitterverse, the Blogosphere, and the tiny space I reserve in my heart for human emotion are all raging over the axing of AJ Cook and the reduction of Paget Brewster on Criminal Minds. Even the show's stars have expressed their surprise and disappointment.
An on-line petition, which can be found here, is close to 13,000 signatures as of this writing and addresses, emails, and phone contacts for CBS have been tweeted far and wide. After learning that @CrimMinds_CBS "unfollowed" AJ Cook just hours after the news she was fired, I myself followed then immediately unfollowed them, just so they can see how it feels. It was a cruel, but unnecessary gesture. Of course, CBS has yet to relent. So, I propose that it may be time for more drastic measures - an organized, publicity generating - most likely futile - group effort. Immediately, I have three ideas:
1. We flood CBS offices with mailings of old bras to show our support for the women of CM. (This also goes along with my "Golden Boobie" post below. Feel free to alter and email that image to anyone and everyone at CBS.)
2. We all vow to boycott the season premiere of Criminal Minds. I'll admit I'm unsure of this - I feel like we would be punishing the cast more than the network and that would be bad.
3. We all vow to boycott the Criminal Minds spin-off. I think many of us have already written it off, but to put it in writing might actually get their attention.
Feel free to use this space to discuss and organize. I am not personally advocating any of the above ideas - they were just the products of angry brainstorming. I'm sure you all can come up with something better. Fire away!

Thanks, Harriet. This is awesome! The link above leads to a great movement already underway. Looks like I'm stopping at Staples!
